State of Climate Emergency Declared

Published: 09 February 2021

At the meeting of the Full Council on 12th January 2021, having previously declared a state of climate emergency, adopted a Climate Change Policy.

We want to lend support as the community has to adapt to changes laid out by the government to decrease carbon emissions, educate residents to realise their household carbon footprints, make as much information on the crisis available, and strive to achieve what we can within our own parish. We will continue to work with East Cambridgeshire District Council, who have a committed team dedicated to the climate crisis, and who have been lending support as we create our Action Policy.

This sounds a bit daunting, and, after a year of COVID-19, something we could all do without. But we must all start somewhere, and soon, and with a bit of hand-holding, there are a lot of small, simple things that can be done to make a start. Watch this space!
