The Recreation Ground can be found off Hythe Lane, turning right over Hythe Lane bridge by the Lode River. The Recreation Ground was purchased in 1899 at a cost of £240 and has always been used for various activities over the years. The Recreation Ground was dedicated a Field in Trust in July 2017.
The last few years has seen huge development to make sure that the space is welcoming to all members of the community and to make the space a place of interest to visit. The Recreation Ground hosts a wide range of outdoor fitness equipment, a trim track, four football pitches, football pavilion and skateboard park. There is also a zip-wire for the members of the public brave enough to have a go, a multi use games area and high quality play equipment suitable for both younger and older children.
