Pound Hill Grass Cut

Pound Hill

Earlier on in the year the Parish Council agreed not to cut Pound Hill until the end of May to allow wildflowers to establish. The Council receive a further request for the cutting to be delayed beyond this date. Whilst not cutting for the first part of June, over the past week or so the Council has received a number of complaints that the area now looks very untidy. Concern was also raised about the visibility at road junctions. Therefore, a decision has been taken to ask our grass cutting contractor to cut the area.

Burwell Parish Council continues to manage both Pauline’s Swamp and Spring Close in a manor that allows wildflowers to flourish. The Council is also piloting a scheme allowing two verge areas in the village to be managed to promote the growth of wildflowers. One site is at the bottom of Hall Lane and the other at the top of Bolton Close.
