BURWELL REPAIR CAFE

We have now had four very successful Repair Cafes in Burwell, with the next one booked for SUNDAY 10th December. Bring along your broken items and enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake while you wait!

Our repairers booked for this session will be able to cover electrical/electronic repairs, sewing, jewellery, furniture, and bikes, but it is worth asking about anything not in these categories.

To guarantee that your item will be seen, there is an online booking system on our website <https://www.burwellrepaircafe.org/>, but it is possible to drop in on the off-chance that a Repairer might have a space.

*Sunday 10th December 2023*

*between 2pm and 5pm*

*at Mandeville Hall, Tan House Lane, Burwell, CB25 0AR*

Huge environmental problems have been caused by the ‘throw-away’

culture, which encourages us to buy new clothes and appliances, even when repair is possible. You can do your bit to change this culture by bringing a broken watch, a ripped hem, a printer that won't print, to the Repair Cafe, and one of the Repair Team will see what they can do to fix it. This not only saves landfill space and the world’s precious resources, but also saves you the cost of replacing that item.

So if you have a wobbly chair, a malfunctioning toaster, or a bike that won’t change gear, please have a look at our website to see how we can help you.

Finally, if you would like to help run the scheme, be it as a repairer, an admin (there's a lot of organising to be done!), to bake for the cafe, or to meet and greet people, please email us at burwellrepaircafe@gmail.com <mailto:burwellrepaircafe@gmail.com>. You can find out more about the scheme on the Burwell Repair Cafe <https://www.burwellrepaircafe.org/> and Cambridge Carbon Footprint <https://cambridgecarbonfootprint.org/repair-cafes/> websites.
